El Festival español BARCELONA ROCK FEST congregó en 3 días bandas consagradas, emergentes y otras que en poco tiempo estarán en primera línea del Rock Duro.
La organización difunde un vídeo resumen como muestra de lo que se pudo ver, oír…., además de agradecer a los presentes, bandas, etc… su participación, comportamiento, etc….
Este es el comunicado difundido:
«Han pasado tres semanas desde que Barcelona Rock Fest acabó. Como siempre, después de tres días tan intensos, todos pasamos un momento de depresión post-festival mientras asumimos lo que acabamos de ver y vivir y, sobretodo, que todo se ha acabado (por el momento). Así que ahora llega el momento de dar las gracias a todos los asistentes al festival, por su comportamiento ejemplar, por la comprensión hacia los múltiples desafíos logísticos y profesionales que conllevó el evento y, sobretodo, por su incondicional apoyo a un evento que todos hemos hecho nuestro y que no es un festival más.
Barcelona Rock Fest se ha enfrentado a muchas cosas en ésta edición. Los evidentes estragos de la pandemia lo han marcado todo. A veces nos olvidamos de lo que ha pasado en el mundo durante los últimos dos años, pero las bajas repentinas de Saxon, Insomnium, Rock Goddess y otros grupos vinieron a recordarnos que no hay que bajar la guardia.
Grandes grupos como Kiss o Alice Cooper viajan en burbujas incluso a día de hoy, minimizando el contacto estrecho con gente externa a su círculo. Por eso, cuando Kiss se hacen fotos con los fans en los meet & greet, no chocan manos o interactúan físicamente. Por eso, en el backstage de Alice Cooper nadie tiene permitida la entrada sin una mascarilla (“seas quien seas”, como decía un cartel). Pero el riesgo cero no existe y como demostraron las bajas de última hora, lo único que queda es tener plan B y muchas ganas de trabajar por y para vosotros.
También creemos que os tenemos que explicar algunas cosas para ser transparentes y ofreceros toda la información.
El festival tuvo césped, aunque no fue el que nos habría gustado. Los ingentes problemas logísticos hicieron que contenedores solicitados a China en Diciembre de 2021 no pudiesen llegar a tiempo (de hecho, no nos ofrecían siquiera fecha de entrega…podrían haber llegado en septiembre). Así pues, tuvimos que ingeniar una solución y encontramos la manera. Conseguimos cinco trailers llenos de césped para evitar que la tierra de la superficie del parque fuese un problema o hubiese nubes de polvo cuando todo el mundo salta.
La zona de personas con movilidad reducida tuvo que reubicarse, a nuestro pesar, a partir del segundo día, atendiendo a las indicaciones del equipo de seguridad del festival. La reubicación más cerca de las puertas de emergencia era necesaria dada la cantidad de público esperada el viernes 1 y el sábado 2 de Julio. Se hizo siempre pensando en la seguridad de aquellos más vulnerables.
El primer día hubo retraso en la apertura de puertas, principalmente por motivos de inspecciones técnicas y de seguridad que garantizan que se pueda acceder al recinto así como la finalización de los últimos toques necesarios para poner todo en marcha. Algunas barras estaban cerradas en ese momento porque no preveíamos la afluencia y acogida que hubo en las primeras horas, algo a lo que reaccionamos con la rapidez que fue posible. Como siempre, el primer día de cualquier festival es el más complicado de todos y siempre se pueden mejorar muchas cosas.
El sonido del primer día generó algunas quejas – especialmente debido a los graves. Dado que el equipo de sonido es el mismo para todos los grupos y que unos sonaron mejor que otros, en ocasiones todo depende de la mano de los técnicos de cada grupo y de cómo se puedan adaptar al recinto y su equipo. Pero tomamos nota de todo lo que nos decís.
Algunos decían que no se iba a hacer y que no habría festival pero Barcelona Rock Fest fue una realidad.
Más de 60.000 personas acudieron al festival de 64 países distintos. Más de 100.000 litros de cerveza servidos. 12 trailers de Kiss llenos hasta los bordes. Más de 30 toneladas de equipo de la banda colgando del techo del escenario. 4 trailers de Judas Priest con todo su equipo. 2 camiones para Megadeth. Otros 2 para Alice Cooper. 2 macroescenarios de más de 120 metros de largo en total. Alice Cooper visitando la Sagrada Familia. Kiss haciendo uno de los mejores conciertos que jamás hemos visto de ellos en España y haciendo explotar más de cien kilos de pólvora. Más de treinta conductores al servicio de las bandas, los equipos y la organización. Decenas de módulos de producción. Más de 150 policías y efectivos de emergencias velando por el buen desarrollo del festival desde el centro de control del mismo. Más de 4000 menús servidos en el catering del festival. Un equipo de más de 400 personas entre organización, barras, seguridad y producción trabajando para hacer realidad el evento. Más de 200 músicos. Más de 300 personas de crew de los músicos trabajando para hacer realidad sus shows. Más de 200 habitaciones de hotel reservadas.
Una absoluta pasada. Y lo vivimos todos juntos y lo recordaremos para siempre.

«Three weeks have passed since Barcelona Rock Fest ended. As always, after three such intense days, we all have a moment of post-festival depression as we come to terms with what we’ve just seen and experienced and, above all, that it’s all over (for now). So now is the time to thank all those attending the festival, for their exemplary behavior, for their understanding of the multiple logistical and professional challenges that the event faced and, above all, for their unconditional love and support for an event that we have all made ours and that it is not just another festival.
Barcelona Rock Fest has faced many things in this edition. The obvious effects of the pandemic have left a mark on everything. Sometimes we forget what has been going on in the world during the last two years, but the sudden cancellations of Saxon, Insomnium, Rock Goddess and other bands acted as a reminder to not let our guard down.
Big groups like Kiss or Alice Cooper travel in bubbles even today, minimizing close contact with people outside their circle. That’s why when Kiss take photos with fans at meet & greets, they don’t shake hands or physically interact. That is why, in the backstage of Alice Cooper, no one is allowed to enter without a mask (“whoever you are”, as a sign said). But zero risk does not exist and as the last minute casualties happened, the only thing left is to have a plan B and a great desire to work for you.
We also believe that we have to explain some things to you in order to be transparent.
The festival had grass, although it was not the one we would have liked. The enormous logistical problems the world faces in 2022 meant that containers requested from China in December 2021 could not arrive on time (in fact, they did not even offer us a delivery date… they could have arrived in September). So we had to come up with a solution and we found a way. We got five trailers full of grass to keep the park’s surface from being a problem or having clouds of dust when everyone jumps during the concerts.
The area for people with reduced mobility had to be relocated, to our regret, from the second day, following the instructions of the festival’s security team. The relocation closer to the emergency doors was necessary given the number of people expected on Friday, July 1 and Saturday, July 2. It was always done with the safety of the most vulnerable in mind.
The first day there was a delay in the opening of doors, mainly for reasons of technical and security inspections that guarantee that the venue can be accessed as well as the completion of the last details needed to get everything up and running. Some bars were closed at that time because we did not anticipate the amount of people and reception that there was in the first few hours, something to which we reacted as quickly as possible. As always, the first day of any festival is the most complicated of all and many things can always be improved.
The sound of the first day generated some complaints – especially due to the bass. Given that the sound equipment is the same for all the groups and that some sounded better than others, sometimes everything depends on the hand of the technicians of each group and how they can adapt to the venue and its equipment. But we take note of everything you tell us.
Some said that it was not going to be done and that there would be no festival, but Barcelona Rock Fest was a reality.
More than 60,000 people attended the festival from 64 different countries. More than 100,000 liters of beer were served. 12 Kiss trailer trucks filled to the brim. Over 30 tons of band gear hanging from the stage ceiling. 4 trailers of Judas Priest with all their equipment. 2 more trucks for Megadeth. Another 2 for Alice Cooper. 2 gigantic stages over 120 meters long in total. Alice Cooper visiting the Sagrada Familia. Kiss doing one of the best concerts we have ever seen of them in Spain and exploding more than a hundred kilos of gunpowder. More than thirty drivers at the service of the bands, the teams and the organization. Dozens of production modules. More than 150 police officers and emergency personnel ensuring the smooth running of the festival from the nearby control center. More than 4,000 menus served in the festival catering. A team of more than 400 people including organization, bars, security and production working to make the event a reality. More than 200 musicians. More than 300 people from the musicians’ crew working to make their shows come true. More than 200 hotel rooms reserved.
An absolute mayhem. And we all lived through it together and we will remember it forever.»
