Hay músicos que podrían parar de editar material nuevo y seguir actuando. Muchas bandas de los 80 así lo hacen hasta que decidan dar por concluida su carrera definitivamente. Thunder tiempo atrás dijo que pararía de publicar, no de actuar, pero volvieron. Sabía decisión porque la banda tanto en directo como en estudio sigue manteniendo la calidad que les hace estar en el status que tienen. Y es que en Inglaterra bandas de aquella época en la que surgieron incluso haciendo su estilo musical Hard Rock, Rock Clásico, Rock-Blues…. pocas por no decir apenas alguna, pero Thunder siguen.
Y para corroborar que la banda tiene ganas de seguir mostrando nuevos temas, que tienen ganas de crear, doble Lp. en estudio con 16 nuevos temas y a un nivel muy alto, muy Thunder, y así lo corroboran sus integrantes Danny Bowes vocal (ex Terraplane / Bowes & Morley), Luke Morley guitarra (ex Terraplane / Bowes & Morley/ solitario), Harry James batería (ex Moontier, Terraplane / Bad Influence / Shadowman / Vosper, Brown, Childs & James / Magnum), Chris Childs bajo (Bowes & Morley /Bad Influence / Vosper, Brown, Childs & James / Shadowman) y Ben Mattheews guitarra / teclados
Vuelven a demostrar el porqué tienen el nombre y la reputación que tienen.
Pues bien, Thunder tiene en su sonido, en su estilo, en su marca el sonido Hard Rock clásico al que le suma elementos y toques setenteros, rocanroleros, aderezado con buenos riffs de guitarras.
Con estas apreciaciones en el apartado mas Hard Rock, directo, potente, vamos Thunder 100% composiciones como “The Western Sky”, “On Day Well´s Be Free Again” que va subiendo y toma cuerpo, “The Dead City”, “Last Orders” esta con un toque muy rocanrolero, “All The Way” con un buen ritmo, “Dancing In The Sunshine” muy Thunder y con ese deje rocanrolero, “Across The Nation”, “Disconnected”, o “No Smoke Without Fire” con un arranque un tanto titubeante pero que rompe.
Luego tenemos otros que se mueven por un estilo algo mas setentero como pueden ser “Black”, sin olvidar ese toque Blues-Rock como “Big Pink Supermoon”, pasando por medios tiempos o baladas como “Unavelling” con piano, “Just A Grifte” con pinceladas folk, “I Don´t Believe The World”….
Resumiendo y en pocas palabras, “Dopamine” es 100% Thunder.
